Advent – Fourth Sunday

In days to come
God’s beloved community
Shall be established throughout the Earth
All people shall be welcome in it
All peoples shall come and say
We are grateful that God made us as we are
Each as we are unique and beautiful
reflecting the facets of creation
Like the sides of cut gemstone
Like sparkling water in a rushing stream
Let us walk together in God’s ways
For from God has gone forth the Good Word
That all are welcome
That none shall be turned away or beaten or caged
That no one shall be choked or shot or tased
Nor need they hurt one another anymore
For God has said that their lives are bound together like vines on a branch
Like tangled strands of DNA, impossible to separate
In days to come
God’s beloved people will lay down their fears and hear what God says
There is plenty for all
And want for none
And on that day
The wanderer will find welcome
And the refugee will find friendly faces
a bed
hot food
showers
soap
medical care
a flu shot
legal assistance
clean socks
dignity
And love will know no borders or walls
For in God’s beloved community there are no distinctions
God will wipe away the tears from all faces
The fears and delusions that beset the people
God will take away
And there shall be no harm or ruin on all the land
For the Earth is filled with the wisdom and love of God
As water covers the sea
The people need only look to see it
